What you get with Razorpay
- Online payments at checkout — shoppers pay instantly instead of choosing an offline method.
- Payments in your own account — money settles into your own Razorpay account, under your own Razorpay pricing.
- Refunds from Commert — issue full or partial refunds without leaving the admin.
- Automatic status updates — orders update on their own when Razorpay confirms a payment, using Razorpay webhooks.
Razorpay connects through OAuth. You simply log in to Razorpay and approve access. Commert never asks for (and never sees) your Razorpay password or API keys.
Before you start
- You need a Razorpay account. If you don’t have one yet, you can create it during the connect flow on Razorpay’s website.
- You should be signed in to Commert Admin as a user who can manage store settings.
Connect Razorpay
You can start the connection from either the Payments page or the Integrations page. Both lead to the same secure Razorpay approval step.Where to start
On Settings → Payments, the Razorpay section at the top shows the current status. When it isn’t connected yet, the status is Disconnected and you’ll see a Connect Razorpay button.

Step 1 — Review the integration (optional)
If you open Razorpay from the Integrations page, a panel opens with everything the integration does, a short installation guide, and answers to common questions. Read through it, then click Connect at the bottom.- Description
- Installation Guide
- FAQs

Step 2 — Start the connection
You’ll land on the Connect Razorpay screen. It reminds you that you’ll be taken to Razorpay to approve access, and that Commert never asks for your payment gateway password or API keys. Click Connect with Razorpay to continue.
Step 3 — Log in on Razorpay
Commert takes you to Razorpay’s own website. Log in to your Razorpay account using your email or phone number (or sign up if you’re new).
This page belongs to Razorpay, not Commert. You’re logging in directly with Razorpay, which is why Commert never needs your Razorpay password.
Step 4 — Approve the access
After you log in, Razorpay shows exactly what Commert is asking permission to do. For the payments integration, Commert requests access to:- Create & view payments
- Create & view refunds
- View disputes & settlements

Step 5 — You’re connected
After you approve, Razorpay sends you back to Commert and the connection is set up automatically. No details need to be typed in. Once connected:- On the Payments page, the status changes to Connected and the button becomes Manage Razorpay.
- On the Integrations page, Razorpay shows a green Connected badge.

Staying connected
You don’t need to do anything to keep Razorpay working — Commert refreshes the connection automatically in the background. Occasionally you may be asked to reconnect (for example, if the connection is nearing the end of its lifetime, or if access was removed on Razorpay’s side). If that happens, just run the connect steps above again.Disconnect Razorpay
Disconnecting stops Commert from using your Razorpay account. Customers will no longer be able to pay online through Razorpay until you connect it again. To disconnect:- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Find Razorpay in the list — it shows a green Connected badge and a Disconnect button.
- Click Disconnect.

- A confirmation appears. Click Disconnect again to confirm.

You can also remove Commert’s access from your Razorpay dashboard (by revoking the connected app). Either way, the connection stops working right away, and Commert updates the status to Disconnected automatically.
Disconnecting can’t be undone. To use Razorpay again afterwards, connect it fresh using the steps above.
Connection statuses
The Payments and Integrations pages show a simple status so you always know where things stand:- Connected — Razorpay is linked and ready to accept online payments.
- Disconnected — Razorpay isn’t linked. Customers can’t pay online through Razorpay until you connect it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to share my Razorpay API keys? No. The connection uses Razorpay OAuth — you approve access from your own Razorpay account and can revoke it at any time. Which Razorpay account is charged the platform fees? Payments settle directly into your own Razorpay account, under your own Razorpay pricing. How do I disconnect? Use the Disconnect action on the Integrations page, or revoke the app from your Razorpay dashboard. Either way the connection stops working immediately.Next steps
